What Is Cholelithiasis or Gallbladder Stone?

First we have to know what is gallbladder then it is easy to understand gallbladder stone  or cholelithiasis.  Gallbladder is a pear-shaped hollow organ or structure found on the right side of the abdomen under liver its function is store the concentrated bile (yellow-brown colored digestive enzymes) which is secreted by the liver. It is connected through common bile duct, cystic duct, and common hepatic duct. It is a part of the billiary tract. Gallbladder also known as chole or bile and gallbladder stone known as cholelithiasis here lithiasis means formation of any calculi or calculus. So in a simple word gallbladder stone means formation of stones or calculus in the gallbladder (chole or bile duct).

Gallstone generally occurs when bile salt and comprised cholesterol that have hardening into a stone. When cystic duct and common bile duct blocked by the stone it causes sudden onset of abdominal pain which is severe in nature generally, sometime it severity is less likely. It is very painful health problem or disease. Gallbladder stone may occur in both adults and children. It is generally treated by endoscopic surgery or laparoscopic surgery. It has risk factors of other serious illness like cancer, if not get treatment.
