What Is Hypertension/High blood pressure?
Hypertension is a long-term or chronic medical condition, where blood pressure of the arteries consistently elevated or increases. High blood pressure patient typically has no symptoms but on a long run it might cause heart problems like coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), arterial fibrillation (Afib) etc. It also causes vision loss, dementia, chronic kidney disease.
Normal blood pressure level of a human body is 60-80 mmHg as systolic pressure and 100 to 130 mmHg as diastolic pressure as per medical guidelines, when blood pressures ranges higher than that level persistently then it would be hypertension or high blood pressure.
Sometimes people suffers from low blood pressure, which known as hypotension.

Sometimes it is dangerous for baby and mother both, it depends on severity of this disease. Gestational hypertension has many signs and symptoms such as edema (Swelling), preclaampsia, sudden weight gain, vision problem, nausea and vomiting. Gestational hypertension can usually be managed by consume less salt diet, rest, lying left side of the body, drink more water.
Borderline Hypertension: When blood pressure ranges between 130/85-90 means not so high then its called borderline hypertension. Normal blood pressure is 120/80. So, borderline hypertension means little high blood pressure.
